Main character from the anime "Lady Oscar" I watched during my holidays. It's a pretty old manga adaptation of Riyoko Ikeda, but I've just discovered it thanks to DVDs my grandmother offered to my sister.
This is the story of a young woman, Oscar François de Jarjayes, who was raised like a man according to her father's will, in the 18th century in France. She was commited in the French royal guard as a capitain when she turned 14 in 1769. She became a Queen's close friend and a glorious soldier. She faithfully served her during many years before the Revolution and even if the most part of the story is centered on Oscar's military successes and her friendship with some other soldiers, there's also the theme of Love, wich isn't easily conceivable in the universe of this ambiguous young woman with a double identity.
Actually, "The Rose of Versailles" was really captivating, and Oscar's strenght and royal allure inspired me, so as her androgine appearance. Even if we probably can not recognize her instantaneously, I had fun drawing, painting and using Photoshop. There is apparently not a special age to watch cartoons
